NYE: AESTHETIC and Adventures (2018 into 19)

Hey…

It’s the last Saturday of 2018 and I’m here belting out Victorious (by Panic! At The Disco) and realizing how great of a song it is for NYE weekend.

So… It’s been a hot sec… as my co-friend (that’s co-worker + friend) would say… shout out to my girl Mary Ilyaich… “My princess… my diamond… my princess di…” –  http://www.cc.com/video-clips/2rocyw/broad-city-ilana-s-exit .

Thanks for being you MAR (like MAYOR).

Ps. *Last Season of Broad City starts Jan 2019*

I had a pretty solid 2018, and hope you did more…. more ups than downs and I survived being 32… health insurance cost be damned… like seriously need to upgrade to save that mullah come next open enrollment #AdultingHardAF

I travelled to a few states (New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Pennsylvania) I had yet to visit…. Oregon probably being my favorite… I kid you not I thought the city  of Portland was going to shackle me down and say you belong here to the 5th power…. and I’m like EXCUSE ME…. I don’t have time for math that I’m probably still good at… I got things to do… despite staying at the best B&B “petite hotel” I HIGHLY RECOMMEND staying at for any type of trip or occasion:

THE ALBERTA PETITE HOTEL

Walking up Alberta Street (left or right) – literally a forever street of shops, coffee, wine, beer, coffee cafes that serve wine and beer (SAY WHAT)…. foodie spots, art galleries, street art and culture.

And hanging in DT Portland:

I had to wrap up a birthday adventure with my Gagging for his face with love RY-GAGA (Ryan Russell aka bestie aka Pop Sensation) and fly back to like share fun Hottesome knowledge about destinations, food, life hacks, health, wine, drinks (see: veganwinelush.wordpress.com – for new post in 2019) and so much more… I mean I couldn’t very well do that from just anywhere (I mean I could, but this wasn’t one of those times lol).

Life is about experiences so why not share them whenever you can… the good, the bad and everything inbetweeners….

Fast forward to present time…. it’s New Year’s Eve weekend… you already started making resolutions and planning out all those realistic achievable goals big and small:

  1. Loss that weight/Get in better shape (by you standards, not your doctors or others)
  2. New Year/New You (wardrobe, diet, traveling, drinking patterns and/or mood)
  3. Learn a new language (or brush up on a few you learned – Spanish, French, Japanese, German, Russian, Mandarin, Sign Language… the list is end list… not an endgame…. like MARVEL’S AVENGERS O.O… can hardly wait)
  4. Social Media (add more/subtract less – meaning you can go all in or do a detox)
  5. SHINY TOY STUNS (new car goals)
  6. OWNER (become a home, condo, apartment/unit and/or own property – you can always sell years from now if you want to move or rent and make a steady profit)
  7. See more/Do more (movies, foodie, concerts, yelp elite (✓)

All that fun stuff… maybe you’ll have it mapped out month by month or have a year long stretch… my bestie Christina Duran Guevara (@evilelfduran03 on IG) inspired me this past year to tackle things for 30 day increments… here’s what I did:

  • April – Take the stairs not the elevator (on work days)
  • May/June – Gluten Free
  • Jul/Aug – practice French and Spanish
  • Novemeber – No Shave and No drink
  • Jan-Dec – visit 100 new places and write about them 🙂 –  https://www.yelp.com/collection/TdEOHRj63kKiZPiw4U76ow

Not a crazy amount/ a lot a lot, but not not not not a lot 😉

Don’t set goals… go for them, then set them (or you’ll forget)… doing Veganuary (a vegan month) is easier than you’re telling yourself it’s not… be an Optimistic Oscar or Positive Polly not’s a I Can’t Isabella… (you get the point).

I’ve been vegan for almost a decade so a month is as easy as a non-dairy grilled cheese sandwich *takes break to make said sandwich*…….

Learning a new language… have conversations with people and friends and don’t be afraid to ask others for help… like when me and my BFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF Christina “Turbo” Rocha (who I’ve known since I was 12 years old… holy shit!) and I did a sick karaoke duet to No Doubt’s Sunday Morning last Sunday at Ricky’s Bar (Victorville, CA):

You’d be surprised at all the people around you willing to help you achieve your goals both yearly and over the span of life. Same with a lifestyle change, fitness regime, new wardrobe… (Matthew “Matty/Matt” Randa aka that guy I live with who’s pretty rad who wants a new look for his “roaring 30s”… we’ll do it up in 2019)…. or anything you want to tackle full on…. no matter what or when it is….

You’ve got a friend in me!

Cheers to doing things you want, your way!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

PPS….. Any fun plans… DM me on IG… I’m clueless… or am I…
