Social Media is an extension of who you are… if you applying for a job of any kind you might want to make those post private or friends and followers only or delete all those dark thoughts you might of had in 2009 on Twitter and Tumblr… because someone is watching… and since life isn’t a cool tv show… there’s no plot twist.

DO’S:

branding is everything… give your resume something to make it pop especially if you’re a freelancer – definitely logo or symbol out on social media and use like names too many alias makes your brand aka you get lost in the pack.

Make sure all your references know you’re applying for work – they may check only one or all 3 (yes have a minimal of 3 non family member references – for job applications – and another one on stand-by – I have 2 alternates just in case of emergency *break glass*).

I recently did a 4 week gig in which I rented out my Facebook ad space (it’s a feature you can used to boost your post for more viewers, etc… works great on a business, fan, artist, blogger, fitness or even more niche page promoting gluten-free dieting).

I rented out my ad space to a company in exchange for $50 a week and $25 for every successful referral… which I used part of that/this income to promote my own business/brand – Hottesome… Inc (see links below) – and increased my viewership by double as well as gained over 100 new followers and likes in a short span of time. By having a Facebook account with over 100 friends as well as having an active account for more than 2 years I qualified.

SIDE NOTE: I actually have two to three

facebook accounts to help maximine

and develop my own work

as well as that of other.

Some companies out there might pay more or less, but it’s a good source of income for small bills, gas, necessities and if it becomes something long-term or more supportive to life needs… you can save up for say a trip you’ve been putting off or put a down payment on a car…

Helpful Tip:

Team Viewer – is a computer remote site/application that allows you to control and monitor another computer from a “2ndary (secondary)” source…. like if you’ve ever work for a large business or company, ran a cash register or had an office job this is an application that allows IT (internet technical) support to override and oversee any glitches.

During the first week a company my ask you to install and open this up giving them only the serial numbers for user info and passcode/word of that program in less than 30 minutes they run ad on a brand new Facebook artist, fan, chef or public figure page only checking in to pay you week to week and if there’s a problem with the ad… they’ll never know your login in info, passwords, etc.. only what they can physically view on your screen (hide the porn).
